I. CLUB NAME AND OBJECTIVE

Name - The name of this club is Slope Slurpers Ski Club - a non-profit organization.

Objective - The objectives of this organization are downhill skiing, water sports, partying, family events, and other social events.  Our main objective is to have fun.

II. MEMBERSHIP

Membership shall be open to anyone of age 21 or older.

Membership dues are payable annually. The fiscal year runs from September 1 through August 31. The membership dues are payable by the first ski club meeting in September.  Membership dues shall be made payable to Slope Slurpers Ski Club.

Dues shall be set by the Executive Board.

III. OFFICES

President - The President shall be the chief executive officer of the Club and preside over the Executive Board. The President shall be the officer to whom all Executive Board members shall report.

Reporting on MSC proceedings to the Executive Board and to the members at large at club meetings and events.

Vice President - The Vice President shall be responsible for maintaining a roster of the membership and the coordination of membership recruitment.

Treasurer - The Treasurer shall be responsible for all club financial accounting transactions. The Treasurer and President have the power of disbursement of club funds.

Secretary - The Secretary shall be responsible for recording minutes at meetings, maintaining and updating the Bylaws, and performing all necessary correspondence as directed by the Executive Board.

Trip coordinator - Coordination of club trips and activities.  Also involved in coordinating  MSC activities.

Merchandizing coordinator - Order, organize, and inventory club merchandise.

Publications Director - Providing articles for the Minnesota Skier (MSC Newspaper)

Minnesota Ski Council (MSC) Delegates (2)

Attending MSC delegate meetings.

 

IV. ELECTIONS

Nominations - Nominations for elective offices shall be held every two years. Nominations shall be made with the consent of the nominee, by the Executive Board, or by members at large at the election meeting.

Voting - The candidate receiving the most votes for the given office shall be elected to that office. Ties shall be determined by the toss of a chain saw, the longest toss wins.

Elections - Elections shall be held every two years at the spring pizza party.

Inauguration - Newly elected officers shall take office on September 1 of the elected year and coordinate responsibilities with the past officers.

Terms - The term offices shall be for two years from September 1 to August 31 of the second year.

Replacement of Officers - If an office is vacated during the term for any reason, the vacancies will be filled as follows:

The Vice President shall fill the position of President.

Any other position vacated shall be filled by appointment of the President with the approval of a majority of the Executive Board.

MEETINGS

Executive Board Meetings shall be held monthly.  General Meetings shall be held on a quarterly basis as needed.

Members shall be notified of the meetings through the Slope Slurpers web site and E-mail.

All meetings shall be conducted in accordance with Roberts Rule of Order where deemed necessary.

MINNESOTA SKI COUNCIL (MSC) MEMBERSHIP

Membership - The Slope Slurpers shall maintain membership for its members and pay dues out of the treasury made payable to the Minnesota Ski Council.

Representation - The elected delegates or the President (if the elected delegates are unable to attend) shall represent the Slope Slurpers on the Minnesota Ski Council Board of Delegates as needed.

 

POLICIES

Non-member guests under the age of 18 shall be accompanied by an adult.

Non-member guests will be allowed to sign up for trips as determined by the Executive Board.

Additional fees may apply to guests as determined by the Exectutive Board.

The Slope Slurpers Ski Club, or any of its officers or members shall not be held responsible or liable for any negligence, personal injury, death, property loss, or damage incurred or sustained in connection with any and all activities.
